Sunday, May 13 it's Mother's Day in Denmark
Here are some facts about Mother's Day, which is held in Denmark the second Sunday of May each year. The tradition was invented in the United States in 1872 by the American writer Julia Ward Howe (1819-1910). Originally, the thought was that day should also be a day of peace. Anna Jarvis (1864-1948) spread knowledge of the day, initially to honor her own mother, but also to generally honor all mothers. The day should be the second Sunday in May, and it spread rapidly to the whole world. For PKM, it means working at an extra high speed, because of course we want to ensure that there are lots of FAIRYTALE FLOWERS throughout Europe, so children - regardless of age - can make their mothers happy on Mother's Day.
