Good colleagues and a responsive workplace were the top priorities when the members of the 3F trade union announced the Workplace of the Year 2011. This is clear after four companies have reached the Workplace of the Year finals.
A total of more than 100 companies were nominated for the competition this year by their employees – almost twice as many as last year, according to the 3F journal. The four finalists are: the steel and technology company Lemvigh-Müller, the pump manufacturer Grundfos, PKM A/S, and TMK, which makes elements for kitchens and bathrooms.
"It strikes me that virtually all of those who nominated their workplaces this year mentioned good colleagues and responsive management as essential to a good workplace. Good colleagues have a great influence on whether or not we feel happy at our place of work," says the president of 3F, Poul Erik Skov Christensen.
This is the twentieth time that 3F – formerly the General Workers' Union – will announce the Workplace of the Year. Grundfos won, and PKM came in as number 2, but regardless of the outcome of the 3F members' vote, PKM is very proud that our employees have nominated us, and that we have even reached the final.
